Two footsteps in the uncontaminated nature of Valfabbrica on the traces of the ancient path of St. Francis
It passes really for
Valfabbrica that path that
St. Francis
followed, leaving
Assisi
in 1206, to reach
Gubbio
to the service of the lepers. The legend tells that in the outskirts
he was attacked by a gang of brigands, and he was sheltered in the Benedictine
abbey of Valfabbrica. The
Franciscan Path of the Peace connects
therefore Gubbio to Assisi, passing for Valfabbrica, and it is long
around 46 kilometres. Along the path can be relived the mystical and
spiritual experience that various times accompanied St. Francis in its
frequent trips to Gubbio. The emotion is guaranteed, and among woods,
old churches and abbeys, throw us in a rare atmosphere of other times
and other places.
