The structure of Scheggino
one of a castle on the slant, it has a triangular form with the keep on the
high summit and the long side formed by the bank of the river Nera
Its historical function was to place itself as a block to keep watch of one of
the bridges over the river, for a merely defensive purpose which was to protect

The first circle of walls marks the boundary of the most ancient part of

out plentifully the sources Fonti di Valcasana
, a real natural spectacle
which offers an incomparably beautiful view.

in ancient times became the protagonist of a to put it mildly unique
incident. In a text, the ''Riformanze
