San Gemini
Albergo Duomo is an ancient palace dating back to the 18th century, located in the beautiful village of San Gemini, well known for its springs of mineral water.
The Mansion has been built by the noble family of the Santacroce (“Holy Cross”) who chose in the 18th century San Gemini as their Summer Residence for its short distance from Rome, the beauty of the landscapes and for the authentic environment and people. The Santacroce bought the entire village and tore down part of the city walls to built their Palace (the actual name of the hotel refers to the adjacent Cathedral of San Gemini).

The new Lobby and Reception are presently being completed, as well as the new Restaurant Room - ample and luminous thanks to its big windows overlooking the valley - accommodating up to 80 guests. The menus, constantly updated and improved, features local specialties as well as courses of Italian cuisine, among which delicious seafood menus, a pleasant, unexpected surprise in a region which is not on the seaside. |

The Hotel has 6 Standard Rooms and 1 Standard Suite of the annexed Palazzetto Wing and in the elegant and charming 8 Superior Rooms and 2 Superior Suites located at the third floor of the main building. Every room of Albergo Duomo is provided with private bathroom, direct
telephone line, air conditioning, colour TV set. Standard and superior
rooms and suites are also equipped with Mini-Bar and hairdryer.

San Gemini is one of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia” - a club of the most beautiful Italian villages - and a member of “Città Slow”, an association of cities providing to citizens and visitors a high standard quality of life. It is strategically located in the Southern part of Umbria region, half way between Assisi and Rome which can be easily reached in 45 minutes / 1 hour drive along comfortable highway. Train connections are also available. Other main Umbrian destinations among which Perugia, Todi, Deruta, Spoleto, Orvieto, the Marmore waterfalls, Norcia, Cascia can be reached in 20/45 minutes. Not to mention many other picturesque smaller villages such as Amelia, Narni, Acquasparta and many others, which are probably less famous but surely worth a visit. |
