Campello sul Clitunno

A piece of heaven in the heart of Umbria

Placed along the Via Flaminia, between Foligno and Spoleto, there is the territory of Campello sul Clitunno a real bucolic heaven. It's a place out of the usual that surprises for the simplicity of its beauty, where clear waters reflect the verdant images of the luxuriant vegetation growing all around the source. The sources of river Clitunno are the real nucleus in which the town territory is identified, a precious environmental gem, where the lake, the plants and the local fauna constitute a natural ecosystem of rare beauty.

Spring waters escape from the ground and from the rocks through the springs, visible on the fund of the lake, which is surrounded by willows and poplars. A true wonder for the eyes and a comfort for the soul. Once arrived on the shores of the little pond it opens a pastoral vision that directly postpones to the poetry of the Arcadia, to the odes of Lord Byron and the Carducci, in suspended time, where reality and imagination mix in a game of lights and very suggestive colours.

All induces to the calm and the serenity. The sources have something pure and native, appear indeed as an uncontaminated destination, where the visitors can feel as one thing together with the nature and part of it.

To few hundred meters from the sources there's the Tempietto del Clitunno, a Christian building probably risen in the V century.  Enchantment of the poets and eternal source of inspiration, the delicate power of the elements is emitted in the sources of the Clitunno in all its power, where every element is composed in a mosaic of great harmony. Anyone who looks for a poetic landscape, a fresco in movement, will certainly find some answers along the soils of the source, where the symphony of the nature manifests in all of its greatness.
