Last minute Spello: The Villa Fidelia

It is a sightseeing place which dates back to the 16^th century when the ground on the rests of an antique Roman sanctuary was terraced and planted with olive trees and grapevine. And there was built the manor house. Its present aspect is due to substantial modifications made in the 19^th and 20^th century. Since 1985 the art collection Straka Coppa has its accommodation in the rooms of the villa. The art collection consists of two departments: one deals with modern, contemporary and futuristic art and exposes works by Ligabue, Dottori, Tamburi, Manzù, Turcato, Guttuso , the second contains works by the classic figurative artists Titian, Carracci and Fattori.

For now ten years the Villa Fidelia is used as privileged place for concerts and other events. In the marvellous frame of the park every year appear Italian and international top musicians. In the last years the singer-songwriters Paolo Conte, Francesco de Gregori, Elvis Costello, Ivano Fossati, Vinicio Capossela and many more were seen in exciting shows in the enchanting gardens of Villa Fidelia. So these events have become important appointments in summer which should not be missed.
