From Porta Perugina to Porta Fiorentina, all the charm of an uncontaminated suburb among its boundaries
Entering from
Porta Perugina the first building you reach is the
Picture-Gallery. It's an ancient room of the
Brotherhood of the Saint
Sacrament, where is possible to admire a whole fresco wall of 1452 with a
great and expressive scene of the "
Crucifixion" of
Francesco
di Cittā della Pieve, first teacher of the
Perugino. There is also
conserved an art collection that testifies, with its precious objects, the
history and the art of
Paciano, from the Etruscan period to the first
one '600s.
Annexed to the Brotherhood there is the
San
Giuseppe Church, named
Chiesa di Dentro, built in 1100 and modified
in the inner part during the 1700. It was the first one to be built inside the
city boundaries. In its inside is preserved a precious ''
Gonfalone with Madonna of Mercy ''
of 1460 attributed to the
Bonfigli.
At the other side of the street there's
the
Church of San Carlo Borromeo, probably of the XVI or XVII century,
while going out of the boundaries through
Porta Fiornentina there's the
Church
of Santa Maria Assunta in Sky, the Parish church of Paciano.
