Just on to end of the last millennium, in
the suburb of
Coloti a very ambitious project has taken shape, the
realisation of an
Astronomic Observatory destined to the automatic
operation, that through the
Robotic Infrared Telescope from 80 cm,
observe the sky every night storing precious information. The observatory is
part of a vaster program, that involves the
University of Perugia and
the
National Program of Searches in Antarctica. The studies effected
from the
Coloti Observatory, must in fact analyse information to make
then available for the project that foresees the construction of a scientific
base and an astronomic observatory at
Dome C, on the glacial cap in
Antarctica.
The observatory of Coloti exploits
conditions of ideal brightness to turn the look toward the sky, and offers to
the amateurs and the less experts the opportunity to visit the structure and to
also have a look through the telescope. During the schedules in which is open
to the visits it can welcome groups of visitors, to which is reserved an
unprecedented experience, dreaming at open eyes with the nose turned up.
