May: Palio of the Quarters
During the celebrations in honour of the patron
saint, San Bernardino takes place the Palio of the quarters, the Palio
dei Rioni, a race of horses ridden by jockeys, which concludes a
historical procession in 15th century costumes.

May: Historical Recalling of the Passing of San Bernardino at Montefranco - This event is entirely dedicated to the
figure of
San Bernardino, who halted at
Montefranco on
the 11
th May 1444, letting behind him a track of miracles at his
passing when he was on his way to
L’Aquila, where he is said to have
died only nine days later. The event is commemorated in the historical
recalling celebrated to his honour.
April: JazzSpring - A series of
Jazz concerts takes
place on the streets and in the pubs and restaurants of
Montefranco, in the picturesque frame of
its characteristic streets and prestigious palazzos.
