The town Fossato di Vico
The
San Benedetto Church is a
Benedictine abbey built in the XIII century. In the façade there are two ogival
portals, while the inside unique aisle, is frescoed by the teachers of the
school of
Gubbio of the XIV and XV centuries.
The Abbey of
San Pietro is a sacred
building inspired to the motives for Gothic French, which construction goes
back to the XIII century.
On the central Square of
Fossato di Vico is risen the
Torre dell'Orologio, still functioning, built in the XVII century from the family
Gricci.
Near
Fossato di
Vico, on the borders of the
Mount
Cucco Regional Park, it's possible to visit the
Center of Education and Environmental Documentation "Green
Classroom". An important resource in the study of the ecosystems of
hills, climbing and Appennino, with the promotion of school-camps, research and
experimentation.
