Last Minute Assisi Capital of the Peace and Patrimony of the humanity

In 2000 the UNESCO has inserted Assisi in the list of the places that for history, importance, culture and tradition, are ideally released by the geographical place in which they rise for being delivered to us making of them a place where nobody is a foreign. Assisi since then is Patrimony of the Humanity as the human creative genius has found one of its maximum expressions, building the St. Francis Basilica first, and enriching it then with marvellous frescos of the most greater artists of the epoch. Assisi is Patrimony of the Humanity because the artistic expression melts inseparably with the most sincere religious and spiritual demonstrations of the Franciscan Order. Assisi is Patrimony of the Humanity from when the message of peace communicated by the artistic and spiritual demonstrations is scattered in every part of the world with a strength never perceived before.

Pope Giovanni Paolo II has perceived the strength that emanated from the bowel of the city, soaked with art and spirituality, delegating to Assisi the role of Capital of Peace and Dialogue, when during meetings of prayer in 1986, but especially in 2002, he made it meeting centre of the leaders of the most important world religions.

There's something great and powerful contained in Assisi, it's something that brings the extremes to the conciliation and levels the contradictions, something that in some way save us, and that attracts us making us feel that not everything is lost.
