FESTLICHKEIT
Frantoi aperti 2004
Like its past editions, Frantoi aperti aims to acquaint the public more closely with Umbrian olive oil through the institution of two days on November 6th and 7th.
Like its past editions, Frantoi aperti aims to acquaint the public more closely with Umbrian olive oil through the institution of two days in which the public is admitted to the region's oileries and invited to taste the year’s new oil for themselves, as well as talk directly to the producers about all the production process. A chance to discover a lesser-known part of Umbria, perhaps including it in a short holiday so as to be able to include several trips to different producers and savour the differences presented by the region’s variegated oil production. The oileries that have adhered to the initiative are well distributed across the region and therefore give a good idea of how Umbrian olive oil changes from place to place, be it from a hilly region to olives that grow on lower ground by water. All the producers will be offering a free tasting of their products, as well as a guided tour of the facilities, some of which are very old and contain interesting elements such as original stone oil presses. A number of the oileries will also be offering an assortment of traditional Umbrian delicacies that go well with the oil tasting. All in all, a healthy trip that combines history, art and local culture.
All the oileries that have adhered to Frantoi Aperti will be open to visitors on November 6th and 7th from 10am to 6pm (some producers have extended these hours for longer periods).
